The research entitled "The Fight of Woman Toward the Domination of Patriarchy in the Tarling Cirebon Text A Riffatere Semiotic Review" is aimed to give meaning to the woman in the text. Tarling is a Cirebon's special art. It's a type art performance with two types of gift, play and songs. In a play and songs there is a "text". Tarling text, the lyric in the song of tarling Cirebon culture observed were four titles, coming from thirty two population data titels of tarling song most wanted by the society through the program of the most famous tarling song in two radio station Cirebon FM Cirebon and MG FM Indramayu.
The four texts of tarling culture were, (1) Aja Melang created by Papa Irma, (2) Bandara Soekarno-Hatta by Eddi Bentar, (3) Darwijem by Ipang Supandi, and (4) Milih Mantu by Hj Uun Kurniasih. Ausing the perspective of feminism literature critique and using the Riffatere semiotic theory, the four texkts of tarling were analyzed om the woman in it.
This is a qualitative study, in the light of the position of the tarling text, wich strongly born in the society of Cirebon and the surrounding. The texts became continuous dialect between the society and the texts, wich then deliver transcendence, perception, thought and will. Then, this made text became a phenomenon. Finaly, the qualitative research methode using the phenomenological approach obtained four truths (1) sensual empiric truth, (2) logic, (3) ethic, and (4) trancendental.
Using semiotic method, the four texts of tarling are analyzed throught two reading steps, heuristic and hermeneutic reading. Subsequently, the texts were identified on the matrix, model, and the variant, and found out the intertextual relation. Besides, it was also carried out the analysis of the woman iamge in the texts.
From the result of the study, it is obtained several general views about the woman image in the four texts of tarling becoming the sample of the study. The views are, (1) the woman in the tarling texts was patriarchy subordinat person defeated by the domination of men around her, (2) the woman in the the tarling text (although being defeated) she fought toward the patriarchy domination, bya showing her stretness toward it. Tex (1) Aja Melang told about a totaly loyal woman until even in the hell, and therefore she demanded loyalty from her lover. She was full of love and hardly possibly being attemted by anyone. This caracter implicated the opositional mening to her lover, who did not loyal and easily interested to other people. Text (2) Bandara Soekarno - Hatta told about a betrayed by the decision of her lover, who was married with other woman in that country. Then, she fought by fading the marriege, with "that's it...". Text (3) Darunjem , told about a plain woman slipped into obscure stall so that finally she was pregnant out of marriage. Her leaving to the obscure stall is a kind of fight against the society taking her into the obscure world. Text (4) was about a wife abused by her husband, altthough she had enough patient and layalty to him. Then, the woman prosecuted her husband for devorce and back to her parents.
The tarling texts with stubborn women view against the harrassment had a hypogram relation with two ancient texts of Cirebon, Carita Purwaka Caruban Nagar'. and Babad Cirebon. The two texts containe the story about Nyimas Rarasantang and Nyimas Gandasari fouht against the domination of men with their ways.
